- Coreopsis – annual or perennial: The yellow varieties of this pretty plant have proven to be deer resistant. They attract butterflies and have beautiful star flowers. A must have plant for every garden!
- Salvia or sage – annual or perennial: Tall flower spires in red, purple, pink, blue or white and not one of them has even been munched on in my garden! A member of the mint family, some varieties can prove invasive depending on conditions.
- Iris – tough, long-lived perennials that thrive in all conditions these plants have lovely flowers in many different colors and color combinations.
Some of the plants I’ve noted may be nibbled on by deer in a different part of the continent. A good rule to remember is that deer will typically not eat plants with fuzzy or scented leaves.
